Fort Wayne, IN – Due to the tight job market many career seekers are deciding for the first time to become self-employed. Three area entrepreneurs have gathered to create a free public seminar on discussing the joys and perils you may encounter on this journey and outline a map that others have used for success. If you are interested in participating, you are invited to learn more at

Becomingself-employed.com.

The seminar will take place May 19th, 2009 at the Fort Wayne New York Life location, 9921 Dupont Circle Drive West, Suite 210,( 2nd Floor), located off of Dupont Road and I-69 at 6:30 thru 8:30 PM.

The topics will cover 3 main areas finance, marketing and the legal aspect of starting a business. “What’s different about this seminar,” explains Dager, “is that it provides the Career Maker with a simple, customized outline that they can begin taking action on immediately. Other seminars teach generic ideas and principles, but this program intends to help participants figure out exactly what to do in their unique situation. The website, www.BecomingSelf-Employable.com will also create a vehicle for the group to use as a sounding board sharing ideas and information that they may acquire.”

The speakers and topics for the seminar:

John Steinbach is a registered representative with New York Life Insurance Company.  John also has over 20 years experience as an organizational consultant and corporate trainer with clients that include numerous Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and non-profits.

David Van Gilder is a counselor and litigator for individuals and small businesses over a wide range of legal matters.  His particular focus is to protect existing natural and cultural areas of value for future generations through land use planning and enforcement of environmental laws.  David serves on numerous environmental and social services boards and is active in the governance and missions of his church. David’s law practice is Van Gilder & Trynka, P.C.

Joe Dager is president of Business901, a progressive coaching company providing direction in areas such as target marketing and organized referral marketing. As a certified coach of the Duct Tape Marketing organization and a facilitator of the Get Clients NOW! program, he is well versed in small business marketing. Joe has started and operated numerous businesses to include manufacturing, retail, and consulting.

Attendees will have an opportunity to interact with the presenters to have their questions answered and to network with others who share common concerns and experiences. Individuals from all types of careers and educational backgrounds are invited to attend Becoming Self-Employed Seminars. There is no charge to attend the seminars; however, online registration is required and can be made at http://www.becomingself-employed.com.
